Our Story
1975
ECC Contracting
Engineering Contracting Company’s story is deeply intertwined with Dubai’s own journey of transformation. Established in 1975 by Mr. Hatem Farah and Mr. Khodr Aldah, ECC Contracting was among the pioneering firms that played a key role in shaping the UAE’s future – not just by constructing buildings, but by contributing to the broader vision of the city.
1985
Abanos
Abanos began in Sharjah in 1985 with a 100,000 sq. ft. factory serving the local market. It was founded to meet the growing demand for reliable in-house fit-out and joinery solutions supporting the region’s expanding construction sector. In 2010, the company relocated its headquarters to Dubai to support its continued growth.
1994
UME
United Masters Electromechanical (UME) was established in 1994 as a strategic extension of ECC Group’s growing engineering capabilities. UME was created to meet the increasing demand for reliable electromechanical services, serving both inhouse projects and a wide range of external clients across the UAE.
2012
Prime Metal Industries (PMI)
In 2012, ECC Group expanded into metal fabrication with the introduction of Prime Metal Industries (PMI), delivering steel and aluminium solutions that transform raw material into strong, reliable structural components for modern construction.
2013
Aurora Real Estate
Drawing from decades of on-site experience and lessons learned through Engineering Contracting Company, Aurora was founded in 2013 on the belief that great developments begin with strong construction and design expertise. Aurora focuses on delivering thoughtfully designed, high-quality developments that elevate community living and tenant experience.
2014
CoreServ
CoreServ was formed organically within ECC Group in 2014 to provide integrated facility management services that uphold the Group’s standards of quality and customer care. Built on a philosophy of sustainable growth, the company takes pride in its professional team, service excellence, and strong client relationships.
2014
ECC Fit-Out
Established in 2014 as a division within ECC Group, ECC Fit-Out was created to address the growing demand for high-quality fit-out solutions for smaller-scale projects. Built on the same systems, processes, and philosophy of ECC Group, ECC Fit-Out initially focused on luxury villas before expanding into mid-rise and high-rise residential and commercial developments.
2021
DesertBoard
Inspired by the rich legacy and the vision of the UAE's founding father, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and in response to the construction industry’s reliance on imported wooden boards, DesertBoard was established in 2021, introducing Palm Strand Board (PSB)—the world’s first palm based wooden board.
2026
Volta Pods
Recognizing the growing demand for faster, smarter, and more efficient construction solutions, Volta Pods was founded in 2026 to develop modular prefabricated pods, reshaping construction delivery with faster execution, precise assembly, and consistent quality outcomes.
Board of Directors
CSR at ECC Group
At ECC Group, we believe our responsibility extends beyond construction. Through our CSR initiatives, we invest in education, professional development, sustainability, and community wellbeing to support positive long-term outcomes both within our organisation and across the wider community. Built around three core pillars — Graduate Pathways, Seeds of Sustainability, and Seeds of Care — our programs encourage learning, strengthen community partnerships, and support the development of future talent across the UAE.
Our CSR Pillars
Graduate Pathways
Graduate Pathways is ECC Group’s structured graduate development initiative, designed to help emerging engineers transition from university into professional practice. Through practical project exposure, cross-department collaboration, and guided site-based learning, participants gain valuable industry experience across multiple disciplines within the organisation.
Seeds of Sustainability
Seeds of Sustainability introduces students across UAE schools to sustainability-focused learning inspired by DesertBoard’s PSB® innovation. Through interactive projects and collaborative activities tailored to different stages of learning, the initiative encourages students to engage with eco-awareness, circular economy principles, material innovation, and creative problem-solving.
Seeds of Care
Seeds of Care reflects ECC Group’s commitment to employee wellbeing, volunteering, and community engagement. Through wellbeing initiatives, awareness programs, and partnerships with local charities and community organisations, the program promotes a supportive workplace culture while encouraging employees to contribute positively to the communities around them.
